WHY BCPL?

  • Provide a focus on player needs
  • Provide a clearer development pathway for the elite player
  • Provide an increased level of competition
  • Provide a period-ized plan to facilitate PTP, NTC & Rest & Recovery periods and also remove the previous conflicting timing of those various programs with club programming

WHAT IS A BCPL FRANCHISE

  • A  highly almost professional like level of soccer programming that caters to the top 18 players  at  each age level  and for both genders
  • We shall operate our franchise to provide the above opportunity to players in our catchment area
  • It is important to engage regional partners so that they too can provide a  pathway for players in their clubs to have convenient access to BCPL for the elite player
  • No restriction on Out of District players

Roles of Regional Partners

  • Assist with the provision of facilities
  • Engage their  technical expertise and staff to compliment delivery of high caliber programming
  • Provide a critical mass of high level players for successful programming and development via a Regional High performance Academy for players aged U/9 to  U/12 to provide BCPL inventory for future years
  • Increase interlocking capacity for all programming at U/9 & U/10 levels

INAUGURAL SEASON  (Subject to minor change)

Season Length

  • September 2011 to November 2012
  • Comprises three playing phases
    1. Mini  Exhibition Season September to end of November
      7 BCPL games
    2. Competition Phase  late February to end of June
      14 BCPL games
      Followed by  Provincial Cup Competition early July
    3. Competition Phase  September to end of November
      7 BCPL games (for U/18 teams, the season will finish after Provincial Cup)

Rest & Recovery Periods

  • December  2011
  • January 2012
  • July 2012

Evaluations

  • March & April 2011 (follow the jump here for details of dates and times)
  • No further evaluations will be undertaken but there will be ongoing evaluation and assessment of player performance which will include a mid-season written performance assessment
  • Player movement in and out of the program will be possible but anticipated to be very minimal
  • Combine camps for aspiring BCPL players will be held throughout the season

Training Curriculum

  • Train to play ratio of 3:1 as per LTPD Model
  • 2 nights per week with appointed  BCPL coach
  • 1 night per week speed agility and fitness programs with dedicated qualified  sport specific instructors
  • Pre-season camps in August 2011 & February 2012
  • Sport Psychology Seminars
  • Pre-Season Exhibition games in Washington

Coaching Appointments

Cost and Fee Payment Schedule

  • $2150 ($1450 for U/18)
  • Inclusive of Player kit allowance – Track Suit, 2 pairs of Shorts, 3 pairs of Socks, 2 Training Tops, & a Backpack – approximately $250 cost value
  • Includes All travel costs for players for estimated 2 trips to Okanagan & Victoria – including approximately $30 food allowance for each road trip
  • Payment Schedule
    1. $1150 April 1st 2011 (All Age Groups)
    2. $500 August 1st 2011 (All Age Groups Except U/18)
    3. $500 October 1st 2011 (All Age Groups Except U/18 who pay $300)

METRO SELECTS BOYS & GIRLS TIER 2

  • New combined league for Boys & Girls highly likely
  • Age groups to mirror age groups of BCPL teams
  • Season remains unchanged from current playing season
  • All other aspects of Metro Selects likely to remain similar to today’s programming
  • Districts to determine who will be awarded a Metro Select team
  • Composition of Divisions still being developed
  • Existing Out Of District Rules continue to apply
  • Open permit system to BCPL teams
