SU BCPL High Performance Academy

THERE IS NO TRAINING SESSION ON FRIDAY NOV. 11

Program Overview

The Surrey United BCPL High-Performance Academy (HPA) is excited to offer a development academy program for the U10-U12 select players in Surrey United SC, Langley United YSA and Guildford AC, as well select players from clubs in the SU BCPL regional area such as CCB and Surdel. This program is the first club-based academy of its kind in the province and is designed to service the motivated select players by creating a competitive environment that pools players with similar technical and tactical abilities under high-quality participation standards. Jeff Clarke (Surrey United SC Technical Director) will be the head coach of this program and will be assisted by Mark Parker (LUYSA TD) and Sipho Sibiya (Guildford AC TD) and the top coaches from the Surrey United BCPL program.

Benefits of Joining

The objective of the SU BCPL HPA is to challenge and further developed the players’ technical and tactical levels and better prepare them for future opportunities in the SU BCPL program and other higher-level programming such as Whitecaps FC Full-time programs and BC Soccer provincial teams.

In addition to the great training environment that the academy will provide there are additional opportunities where selected players can showcase themselves, see below:

Connection with Whitecaps FC

The technical staff from Whitecaps FC have committed to regular visits of the Surrey United BCPL HPA throughout the season as a part of their identification process for their Prospects and Full-time programming. Last year 5 players from this academy were selected for the Whitecaps U13 boys full-time program.

Also, Surrey United will be entering academy teams in the Whitecaps Scouting Tournaments that will be hosted during the season. SU will cover all associated costs for this and will be complimentary to those participating players.

U12 Players – 11 v 11

Surrey United will be hosting extra training sessions and possible exhibition games for selected U12 players that will focus on the introduction of 11v11 game play. This will be a huge benefit for those invited into Whitecaps programming as well as for the BCPL team evaluations in the spring of 2012. These sessions will be complimentary to those participating.

To register for the academy evaluation CLICK HERE

After the completion of the Sept. 12 evaluation all selected players will receive an invitation into the academy and the program will begin on Friday Sept. 16th.

Two 10-session sets & player turn-over:

Players initially invited into the academy will pay for both sets of the academy, however, all players will be continually evaluated throughout the first 10-session set. If a player falls below the expected standards of attitude, performance, attendance etc., Surrey United reserves the right to not include them in the 2nd 10-session set and replace them with another player from one of the club academies that was not selected into the first 10-session set. If a player is not invited back to the 2nd 10-session set then they will be reimbursed $135.

Players not invited into academy

All players NOT initially selected into the BCPL High-Performance Academy are strongly encouraged to enter their respective club academy as their progress and performance will be continually monitored and could warrant a late invitation into the program.
