Goalkeeper Academy Program Overview
The 2016/17 Surrey United Goalkeeping Academy will be held on Monday evenings on CAP #1. The curriculum for the goalkeeping academy will be structured to consistently test and challenge all goalkeepers and give them the technical focus and instruction required for the position.
This program is open to goalkeepers in the U9-U18 ages. In addition to getting the opportunity throughout the season to participate in the Surrey United Academies to get additional shot-stopping practice in drills and game situations.
Our head goalkeeping instructor is Tyler Baldock. Tyler is a graduate of Carson-Newman College in Tennessee and played with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC from 2007-2009. In addition to being SUSC’s Head Goalkeeper Instructor he is also Head Goalkeeping Coach for the SFU Men’s Varsity Team since 2014. He has coached goalkeepers for over 10 years in Surrey and the Lower Mainland and he is very excited about working with Surrey United’s young prospects again.
